Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Michael honed his initial skill set while working alongside his father, who had an inherent knack for figuring out how to make things work, and was influenced by his creative and resourceful mother who offered him constant encouragement.   

Since 2004, Michael has called Oregon his home and has been inspired by the natural beauty and culture of the Pacific Northwest.  He has expanded both his workshop and skill set living the motto “every project justifies a new tool.” 

When not creating in his workshop, you can often find Michael braving the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean at one of his favorite surf spots.
